Concert Triumph NSO were hugely proud to accompany Southwell Choral Society on Saturday 10th May for their 60th Anniversary Concert. An enthusiastic capacity audience gathered in Southwell Minster to hear a single work, the ever popular Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, with the musical forces under the assured baton of Marcus Farnsworth. The performance featured soprano Georgie Malcolm, tenor Joseph Doody, baritone Timothy Nelson and the Southwell Minster Choristers in Orff's choral masterpiece. An epic finish to what had been a day of beautiful sunshine.

Next Concert Why not join NSO on Saturday 5th July in St Mary's Church, Nottingham for a selecton of classics perfect for a Summer's evening. The first half features Debussy's impressionist masterpiece Three Nocturnes, based on de Regnier's Poèmes anciens et romanesques (Poems Ancient and Romantic), and Richard Strauss' profound Four Last Songs, performed by soprano Nina Bennett (pictured). Filling the second half is Mussorgsky's mighty Pictures at an Exhibition, a musical portrait of a walk around an exhibition of works by Viktor Hartman that Mussorgsky visited in 1847. Full programme details and ticket info are available on the Next Concert page.
