Next Concert

Concert Triumph An enthusiastic audience of almost three hundred joined NSO on Saturday 8 March for an epic evening of concert favourites. The programme featured Richard Strauss' heroic tone poem Don Juan, Elgar's Enigma Variations, each one a musical portrait of one of his closest friends, and Barber's glorious Violin Concerto, played by Darragh Morgan (pictured). Darragh was described by The Strad magazine as 'hugely impressive, he plays with seemingly effortless control'.

Next Concert Why not join NSO on Saturday 5th July in St Mary's Church, Nottingham for a selecton of classics perfect for a Summer's evening. The first half features Debussy's impressionist master piece Three Nocturnes, based on de Regnier's Poèmes anciens et romanesques (Poems Ancient and Romantic), and Richard Strauss' profound Four Last Songs. Filling the second half is Mussorgsky's mighty Pictures at an Exhibition, a musical portrait of a walk around an exhibition of works by Viktor Hartman that Mussorgsky visited in 1847. Full programme details and ticket info are available on the Next Concert page. (If you can't wait that long to hear NSO the Orchestra will be accompanying Southwell Choral Society in their 60th anniversary concert on 10 May and featuring the ever popular Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. The action takes place in Southwell Minster and tickets are available through NSO's TicketSource site.)
