Review Wild applause, whoops and even a number of audience members rising from their seats greeted the finale of Mahler's Symphony No.1, 'The Titan', on Saturday 22nd November 2025, at the Orchestra's first concert of the 25/26 season. The Symphony was the closing work of the evening which had also featured Verdi's driving Force of Destiny overture, Mahler's lyrical Blumine and Vaughan Williams' evocative Fantasia on a theme by Thomas Tallis. A memorable night.
